7 best vegan spots in Dallas: A local’s guide

Dallas is known for its vibrant culinary scene, and vegans have no shortage of delicious options to explore. Whether you're a local like me or just passing through, this guide will lead you to some of the best vegan eateries in town. From innovative twists on classic dishes to hearty comfort food, these spots redefine what it means to eat vegan.

Slutty Vegan Dallas

This menu of burgers, fries, and sandwiches is sure to raise an eyebrow or two - I bet you can't order the One Night Stand (pictured above), Fussy Hussy or Hollywood Hooker with a straight face. Whether you're dealing with the aftermath of your Friday night shenanigans, or feeling like having a cheat day because it's Saturday, Slutty Vegan is your go-to spot!

Pepitas Vegan Taqueria

When visiting Denton, satisfy your cravings for authentic Mexican flavours with a vegan twist at Pepitas Vegan Taqueria. This culinary gem has been delighting diners with its innovative plant-based dishes for several years. Dive into their Al Pastor Tacos, brimming with marinated soy and jackfruit, or savour their irresistible Brisket Birria Tacos. Whether you're a seasoned vegan or just dipping your toes into plant-based eating, Pepitas promises a delightful experience for all. Did someone say cruelty-free Taco Tuesday?

Mashup Market and Deli

We all remember that feeling growing up when going to a friend's house, and their mum would greet us with the biggest welcome, making you feel right at home. Well, Mashup Market and Deli is no different. The owner and her mother greeted me the minute I walked in, asking how I was doing, and giving recommendations. They gave me a whole plate of samples from their hummus spreads to ‘meats’ and ‘cheese.’ Getting one of their plant-based sandwiches at their deli is also an absolute must. It is undoubtedly the best sandwich I have ever had (pictured below). I got the Classic Italian and cannot wait to go back to try them all! This is definitely your one-stop shop for all things vegan. And no shame if you walk out with multiple bags; I know I did!

Bam’s Vegan

Looking for a quick, healthy, and delicious meal on the go? Look no further than Bam’s Vegan. Those leaning into a light lunch can opt for a salad, whereas a famished customer can easily find enough sustenance with a colossal wrap. Naturally, I opted for the latter. Originally starting at the Dallas Farmers Market, Bam’s has quickly become a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike.

Spiral Diner & Bakery

A Dallas staple, Spiral Diner serves up comfort food like no other. Hell's Half Acre and Viva Las Migas are just two examples of what you’ll find here. They also have their own take on Chicken and ‘Waffles’ (pictured below), leaving you questioning if you should ever go back home. Founded by a team of dedicated foodies, Spiral Diner is committed to providing delicious vegan options for everyone. This diner is a must-visit for both longtime vegans and newbies alike.

Vegan Vibrationz

Get ready for big flavours and even bigger vibes at Vegan Vibrationz. Known for their creative and flavourful dishes, this spot reimagines food classics in the most delicious way. Famous for its vegan version of the fast-food favourite, the Crunchwrap Supreme (pictured below), made with Beyond meat, dairy-free chipotle sour cream, vegan cheddar, and mango pico de gallo. Once described by Eater as a "full-on phenomenon in Dallas," this place will have you asking, "Are you sure this isn't meat?"

TLC Vegan Cafe

When Sundays roll around, we only have one thing on our minds - brunch! While the TLC Vegan Cafe dinner is impeccable, their brunch really sets them apart. Get ready for mushroom gravy to trickle down your arm and orange marmalade drizzle to smudge the corners of your mouth after you divulge in plates such as the Chick'n & Waffles (pictured below) or Chick'n & Grits. And if your stomach can handle it, order the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding for dessert. (You deserve it!)
